Hanle is a remote village nestled in the eastern part of Ladakh, close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China. Situated at an altitude of over 4,500 meters, Hanle is known for its clear skies and minimal light pollution, making it an ideal location for stargazing and astronomical observations. The Hanle Observatory, operated by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, is one of the highest observatories in the world and attracts astronomers and astrophotographers from around the globe.

Located in the northernmost part of the Indian union territory of Ladakh, Nubra Valley is a high-altitude cold desert renowned for its breathtaking landscapes. Located approximately 19 kilometers east of Leh, the capital of Ladakh, Thiksey Monastery is one of the most prominent and picturesque monasteries in the region. Perched atop a hill, Thiksey Monastery resembles the famous Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet, due to its architectural style. The monastery complex houses numerous prayer halls, stupas, and other religious structures adorned with vibrant murals, thangkas (Tibetan silk paintings), and statues of Buddhist deities.

Pangong Tso, commonly referred to as Pangong Lake, is a stunning high-altitude lake situated at an elevation of about 4,350 meters in the Ladakh region of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The lake stretches across approximately 134 kilometers, extending from India to Tibet (China). Its crystal-clear blue waters against the backdrop of rugged mountains create a mesmerizing sight. Pangong Lake gained international fame after being featured in the popular Bollywood film "3 Idiots."
